NOBLE ROOTS SINCE 1911
The Brickstone Ballroom is is the only remaining example of a fraternal lodge in downtown Vancouver. Built in 1911 when fraternal orders were an important element of the social, civic, philanthropic and commercial lives of communities the Elks organization occupied the second and third floors and leased or rented the ground floor for commercial use. The second floor contained a number of meeting, reading, and pool, billiard and card rooms. The third floor was an auditorium where large gatherings were held and home of the Brickstone Ballroom.
